Twitter Management Apps
This guide is designed to help you get the most out of your Twitter account, including both management and analytical aspects. This will help you run campaigns and measure their results more effectively.
Introduction
Not all of these tools are essential for every business, however an understanding and awareness of how your efforts could be measured and campaigns enhanced will help you grow your Twitter audience and, in turn, your business. This knowledge will also help you select a well suited social media manager and the metrics you should receive within your report.
Bitly
Bitly pronounced as is a URL shortening tool that enables you to share web pages without exceeding the 140-character limit. Whilst Twitter enables you to do this by shrinking your URL, Bitly goes one important step further by enabling you to track your links and analyse the results produced from this.
HootSuite
HootSuite is our favoured social media management tool for multiple reasons. It has one of the most user-friendly interfaces; you can open an account for free which is sufficient for most start-up and small businesses as you can manage up to five social media accounts from one place.
HootSuite is web based so you can access it from any location. They even have an app for easy mobile and tablet accessibility. Through Hootsuite you can easily and affordably upgrade your package from the free version to a pro version that will enable you to manage unlimited accounts and provide access to more in-depth reports for just $9.99 per month.
You can also incorporate streams for other social media sites such as Google+, Facebook and LinkedIn. You are able to write for multiple sites simultaneously, then use the AutoScheduling function to optimise the time they publish on each.
Tweet Deck
Tweet Deck is Twitter’s own management tool. Similar to HootSuite, it allows you to be logged in to multiple accounts simultaneous. HootSuite has the added benefit of having all your social media in one place, but if you are running multiple Twitter accounts and do not require a management system for your other streams you might find it preferable.
Twitter Feed
This is yet another great time saving tool. Twitter Feed enables you to quickly and easily set up a synchronised system between your blog and your social media accounts. Twitter Feed will automatically update both social profiles once a new blog post is published or updated.
