Essential Google Plus Policy Guidelines
This guide is designed to help you comply with the Google plus policy guidelines, negligence can lead to suspension and potentially a ban.
Names and Google Plus
Google plus makes connecting with people on the web more like connecting with people in the real world. It is strongly recommended that you go by your first name and surname because it will help you connect with people you already know and in return help them find you.
These policies only apply to Google plus profiles which are for individuals. If you want to use Google plus to represent someone or something other than yourself β like your business, your band, your family or your pet β you should create a Google plus page instead.
User Content and Conduct Policy
Spam
Do not spam, including sending unwanted promotional or commercial content, or unwanted or mass solicitation.
Do not aggressively add people to your circles.
Ranking Manipulation
Do not manipulate ranking or relevancy using techniques like repetitive or misleading keywords or metadata.
Google Plus Contests and Promotions Policy
You may not run contests, sweepstakes, or other such promotions (“Promotion”) directly on Google+ or in a manner that requires use of G+ features or functionality. You may display a link on Google+ to a separate site where your Promotion is hosted so long as you (and not Google) are solely responsible for your Promotion and for compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations in the jurisdiction(s) where your Promotion is offered or promoted. Your Promotion must not be run or conducted in a way which conflicts with the Buttons Policy, Privacy Policy or Google+ Pages Additional Terms of Service and cannot use Google+ features or functionality as a required part of the Promotion. Google has the right to remove your Promotion content or links from Google+ for any reason.
You release Google from any liability associated with your Promotion and you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Google, its parent corporation, affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees) arising from: (i) your use of and access to Google+ for your Promotion; (ii) your violation of any term of these policies; (iii) any violation within your Promotion of any third party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right; (iv) any claim from any third party relating to or arising from your Promotion; or (v) any claim that your Promotion violates any law, rule or regulation. This defense and indemnification obligation will survive the termination of the service, changes to these policies and your use of Google+.
Names
You may choose any name for your Page so long as it complies with our Google+ content policies. Once you have selected a Page name, you may change it up to 3 times in a calendar year. Once your Page has a significant number of followers, we no longer allow a name change.
